PowerBar launches in Virgin Active

This month sees sports nutrition brand PowerBar introducing its fitness product range into Virgin Active clubs across the country.
PowerBar will supply the chain with products from its fitness range - designed specifically for regular gym users to support their individual training objectives - plus nutritional information for gym goers on how to support their workout.
PowerBar, the official energy bar, sports beverage and gel sponsors for the Tour de France 2006, will also be teaming up with Virgin Active and Eurosport in support of their Tour de Active promotion, with activity running at all of the participating clubs throughout July.
Marc Honold, Country Manager for PowerBar said: “It is a significant development for PowerBar to introduce the fitness range into Virgin Active clubs.
“Virgin Active are very focused towards the fitness and well being of individuals, which is also the core objective of the PowerBar fitness range.”
Now in its 20th year, PowerBar's product line is divided into distinct categories for both pro-athletes and regular gym users. The pro-athlete product range includes PowerBar Performance Bar, Performance Sports Drink, Harvest bars, PowerGel energy gel, ProteinPlus Recovery Drink and bar.
Reported to be a market leader in the US and with a high presence in continental Europe, PowerBar is endorsed by a number of high-profile athletes including Olympic gold medallist and World Record-holding long distance runner, Haile Gebrselassie; seven times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong; and World Ironman champions, Faris al-Sultan and Normann Stadler.
