New handheld POS, the J2 Wave, wows users

Touchscreen EPoS manufacturer, J2 Retail Systems, has entered the handheld market with its new J2 Wave. Ideal for hotels, spas, restaurants, bars and fast-food outlets, it facilitates tableside order-taking and bill creation, mobilising staff to be wherever customers are, giving fast and personal service and upselling.

Says Malcolm White of partner ICR Systems: “With the J2 Wave, we’ve got all the positives of handhelds with none of the negatives. When I gave one to a client to trial, I said “get used to it; you won’t want to give it back!” and I was right. He now uses J2 Waves in a busy bar and restaurant and he’s increasing turnover.”

Lightweight (320g) and comfortable to hold (84mm wide), the J2 Wave was built for durability and can withstand being dropped from up to 1.5m. Its touchscreen, which can be rotated or set in landscape or portrait format, is large, clear and responsive. The Wave has a battery life of 8+ hours and comes with a single- or four-unit charging cradle.

Concludes J2’s Moray Boyd: “The J2 Wave is cost-effective and gives a rapid ROI. It increases staff productivity through faster and virtually error-free order-taking. Clients are finding that better-served customers are spending more.”
