English cricket calls time for Taylors' tea

Taylors' Yorkshire Tea brand has signed a commercial agreement with The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to become the Official Brew of England Cricket.

The contract will run for three years until October 2015 and will be the focus of Yorkshire Tea’s marketing activity, including TV advertising, social media and on-pack promotion.

A programme of events and promotions will take place during the 'Yorkshire Tea Breaks' at Investec Test Matches.

Yorkshire Tea marketing director, Simon Eyles, said: “This is the first national sponsorship Yorkshire Tea has embarked upon, and we’re really looking forward to being part of such an exciting summer of cricket.”

ECB commercial director, John Perera, said: “It’s pleasing for us as a governing body to see a partner feature the game in TV advertising which will undoubtedly stimulate even more interest in the sport ahead of a packed domestic and international season.”

Whatever we do here at Taylors of Harrogate, we like to do it properly. Maybe it’s just the Yorkshire way of doing things. We’re a proud family business – three generations, in fact – and we’ve always been into making good tea. Done right, it’s amazing what a simple cup of tea can do really. Things have a habit of feeling instantly better after a proper brew. We’ve come a long way since we popped the kettle on and brewed our first pot of Yorkshire Tea in the 70s. Who’d have thought back then that we’d now be making one of Britain’s favourite brews?
