fibodo launches Fit 4 the Fight initiative to keep people active in the wake of the coronavirus

Fit 4 the Fight is designed to enable PTs and fitness professionals to offer virtual classes in the wake of the coronavirus
fibodo, a booking management platform for the fitness industry, has launched Fit 4 the Fight, a new initiative encouraging members of the public to keep active, as well as keep personal trainers and fitness operators working in the wake of the coronavirus.

The initiative will see the company give trainers and other fitness professionals free access to its Fit 4 the Fight booking web pages and apps, so they will be able to start hosting online training sessions immediately, without incurring any additional overhead costs.

Through Fit 4 The Fight, instructors will be able to offer 20- or 40-minute private online sessions for £10 and £20 respectively, along with 40-minute group classes for up to six people over 70, at a cost of £5 per head.

In addition to the online sessions, trainers will be also be able to offer one hour sessions for £50, in or near the homes of participants, with all necessary health and safety precautions taken to minimise the risk of transmission.

Trainers listed on the website and app can be searched for by consumers by name, location, time and activity type. They can also advertise their availability on social media directly from the platform, using the campaign’s hashtags for increased reach.

The company has also waived its £29.99 subscription fee for all fitness providers until the end of June 2020. Instead it will charge a 10 per cent fee for each session, with 50 per cent of this fee being donated to charities dedicated to helping those most vulnerable to the pandemic.

"While necessary, social distancing and self isolation have the potential to cause serious physical and mental health problems both now and in the long term," said fibodo founder and CEO, Anthony Franklin.

"It's essential that we encourage and enable people to keep fit, even as this situation continues to unfold.

"The fitness industry must do everything it can to suport itself. While many gyms and studios may temporarily closs, we are committed to helping find alternative ways of offering their services within their communities.

"By removing the barriers to setting up online and local fitness sessions, Fit 4 the Fight will not only help to ensure the health and happiness of our nation, but also protect our vital fitness industry over the coming months," Franklin added.
