The Swimming Pool Safety Company (SPSC) has recently completed the installation of safety systems onto the Master Blaster, Space Bowl and flume rides at Butlins in Bognor Regis.

The company fitted a standard Aquatic Ride Controller to the Space Bowl and regular flumes, with a modified version being installed on the Master Blaster Ride.

The systems effectively control the entry and exit of riders - eliminating the risk of collisions - with the company reporting that the control of a multi stage flume like a Master Blaster was quite a challenge since multiple riders have to be monitored simultaneously throughout the various stages of the ride.

This was effectively achieved by modifying the circuitry of the software based Aquatic Ride Controller.

SPSC's high definition PoolView System was employed to further increase the safety of all the rides, providing the supervisors with real time viewing on high brightness screens, and management, with a high frame rate, digital recording system to support their claims management procedures.

The Master Blaster was further enhanced by the installation of an Aquatic Ride Timer which shows the last and fastest ride times.
