New pitch for Doncaster school

Construction group ERDC has handed over another pitch ahead of programme, this time at Doncaster's Hungerhill School.

The project marked the 20th school sports project undertaken within the UK by the company in the 2007/2008 period.

Works to construct the sand dressed pitch which included earthworks, drainage, base works, fencing, floodlighting and landscaping were started in the Spring of this year and completed on 11 June, just in time for the school sports day.

Accepting the pitch on behalf of the school, Steph Morritt said: "We are all so very impressed with the pitch, we couldn't believe how quickly and smoothly the works went."

Acting for the client, Richard McGregor of Steve Wells Associates said: "Considering that ERDC had to plan and operate around a restricted area and deal with challenging access issues the site team carried out operations very smoothly and efficiently."
