A free-to-access training platform has launched to help the sport and fitness workforce confidently return to work, as lockdown measures are eased.

The £250,000 ReActivate initiative has been funded by Sport England, commissioned by CIMSPA and delivered by a consortium of online training partners, led by Future Active Workforce CIC.

Training covers topics such as risk management, social distancing, cleaning and use of equipment, as well as COVID-19-specific procedures.

Bringing together government and industry guidance, ReActivate is free to use for 12 months for anyone working or volunteering in the sport and physical activity sector in Englan, including fitness instructors, trainers and staff working in leisure facilities, as well as grassroots sports coaches and volunteers.

Everyone completing the course will receive a CIMSPA COVID-Safe training certificate.

“The sport and physical activity workforce and volunteers are going to play a vital role in keeping the nation fit and healthy as we emerge from this crisis," said Tara Dillon, CEO of CIMSPA.

"Our recent Return to Work survey found that 40 per cent of people have some degree of apprehension about returning, so it's vital we give them the support they need to return with confidence and create a safe environments for customers.

"The resources we're providing, with support from Sport England and our delivery partners, are designed to give all stakeholders the ability to reopen with confidence.”

You can sign up here for ReActivate training.
