Katie Brindle unveils the Hayo'u method

The Hayo'u Method is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner Katie Brindle has created the Hayo'u method, a treatment range combining self-care techniques and a product line, consisting of tools and skincare for face and body. The method is designed to target stress and ‘transform’ the user’s health and beauty.

The Hayo'u method consists of four daily self-treatment rituals involving traditional techniques taken from Traditional Chinese Medicine including Gua Sha, Qi Cong and conscious cleansing.

The rituals are a minute long and designed to be easily incorporated into daily routines. The rituals include the beauty restorer ritual, the body restorer ritual, the rescue breath ritual, the reset ritual and conscious cleansing.

The Beauty Restorer ritual is designed to rejuvenate the skin, using a combination of Gua Sha and acupressure. Users press-stroke the face with the Beauty Restorer - a facial massage tool made from jade - targeting areas that store stress, typically the jaw line, forehead and temples. With daily use the beauty restorer ritual can reportedly improve microcirculation, boost collagen production, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and aid lymphatic drainage to decrease puffiness.

The Body Restorer ritual is designed to reduce stress by clearing it from the body. Using the Gua Sha technique users gently scrape their lower back, chest, neck and shoulders with the body restorer tool. This allows for healthy, nutrient rich blood to flood beneath the skin, flushing out toxins.

The Reset ritual is designed to reset the system and rid the body of any tension or stress. It uses Qi Cong, a technique used in martial arts that combines posture, movement and breathing. Users ‘shake, drum and twist’ the body releasing stress, increasing energy levels and reducing pain.

The Rescue Breath ritual is designed to restore the para-sympathetic nervous system. It is a three step process that involves conscious breathing. Users expel stale air by breathing in deeply before sharply exhaling three times. Users then breathe deeply while smiling five times. The Rescue ritual reportedly calms the mind, slows the heart rate, oxygenates the blood and overrides negative emotions.

The Hayo'u method also includes a line of products created to be used in conjunction with the rituals.

The six-piece collection features a Beauty Restorer facial massage tool, a Body Restorer body massage tool, Bathe-rite bath minerals, Bathe-right shower minerals, Treat-rite body oil and Treat-rite face oil.
