As part of the £24m development of Crawley Leisure Centre in West Sussex, 2000sq m. of Junckers press dried Beech SylvaSport Premium has been used to create the multi-purpose sports floor which will be a training facility for the 2012 London Olympics.

A Dojo and several dedicated aerobics areas have also been fitted using Junckers flooring over the UnoBat 62+ system.

The sports hall floor was laid using Junckers' new UnoBAT 50 single-layer batten system, which has an installation height of only 50mm. This is one of three new sports flooring systems from the company, all of which conform to both BS7044 and DIN18032 and the forthcoming CEN standard.

Architects for the project were S&P Architects of London, installation was by Pica Floors of Great Dunmow and the main contractor was MJ Gleeson Group
