Spa collection award win for Jermyn Street Design

London-based corporate clothing designer, Jermyn Street Design, scooped four awards at an industry awards ceremony, one of which was for its work with Oyster Spa.

The award, presented at the Company Clothing Industry Awards 2006 held at the Clothing at Work Show, was for Best Workwear Range.

Oyster Spa, part of Whitbread, offers its clients a complete holistic approach to well-being. This concept had to follow through to the spa therapists' uniform, with a brief to exclusively design a uniform which made them look serene, professional, calming and was flowing.

Therapists also require a full range of movement as their duties can vary from receptionist to giving a full body massage.

The Oyster tunic top has an asymmetrical hem and panel across the body, softening and flattering the outline. The therapist's roles are defined visually through different coloured sashes: orange, pale yellow and blue. The sashes, which can be removed if needed, also include a small pocket for the therapist's locker key and pager.

Berni Hawkins from Oyster Spa said: “My therapists all feel wonderful in their uniform. What a success!”

Jermyn Street Design celebrates 25 years this year, with a client list including such labels as Dubai Airwing, David Lloyd Leisure, Beefeater, Givenchy, Boots, Decleor, Historic Royal Palaces and SK-II.

Susanne Malim, creative and managing director of Jermyn Street Design said: “This award is a real accolade. Jermyn Street Design provides its clients with the best in quality, design and service and the Oyster Spa collection is a shining example of this”.

As well as winning the Best Workwear Range, Jermyn Street Design was runner up for its Elior UK collection. The company also won Best Careerwear Formal Tailoring for its collection for a well known cosmetics and perfume company; Best Managed Major Contract award for its work with Premier Travel Inn; and creative and managing director, Susanne Malim won the coveted Special Achievement Award.
