Stay Active awards for housing group staff

Former 5,000m world record holder David Moorcroft has presented awards for iGlobalWellness's Stay Active Challenge to staff of Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) and Cosmopolitan Housing Group (CHG), recently linked in a £1.3bn merger.

A five-person team from CHG won the corporate activity challenge with a 182 per cent increase in daily activity over three months. A team from CDHT was the best performer in its group challenge with a 167 per cent increase in activity.

Moorcroft told group colleagues: "I hope you enjoyed the challenge and that as a consequence people are more active in your organisation. The merger is a great time to celebrate the achievements of the Group."

The Stay Active Challenge sees teams compete to increase their daily activity levels through everyday pursuits such as walking, using the stairs and gardening. Participants wear a wireless activity monitor which measures calorie burn, speed of movement and metabolic information and uploads the results to an interactive website.

CDHT and CHG entered the Challenge as part of their commitment to staff wellbeing. CDHT was ranked 27th in the Sunday Times '100 Best Companies to Work For' list in March 2011.

The awards presentation took place at the Floral Pavilion Theatre and Conference Centre, New Brighton, Wallasey as part of a Colleagues’ Conference held by the newly merged CHG.

The awards themselves were designed by British artist Isabelle ZhiZhi Southwood. iGlobalWellness commissioned Southwood after she produced the winning design for a new piece of artwork at Wimbledon station, a 3m high stag made of steel.
