KCL Engineering collaborates with Ride Entertainment in a new sales partnership

The Monster ride at Adventureland in Iowa features nearly 200 KCL LED light fixtures
KCL Engineering (KCL), a provider of custom lighting solutions, has announced a sales partnership with Ride Entertainment.

Adam Sandy, chief business development officer at Ride Entertainment, said: “We were interested in working with KCL because it creates a custom light package for rides based upon illumination request, budget and ride type.

"KCL are able to offer a very different end product than most vendors because it is not tied to a specific lighting product - it can work with anything and anyone.”

Kris Kunze, engineer and lead lighting designer at KCL, said: “The partnership with Ride Entertainment provides immediate immersion into the attractions industry.”

Sandy added: “We get to add another unique partner to our portfolio and KCL get a partner intimately familiar with the industry, who has a history of great relationships.” KCL has recently completed three major projects with the Iowa-based theme park Adventureland, including the installation of an innovative LED lighting system on the park’s new Gerstlauer roller coaster, The Monster.

The Monster stands at 131ft tall and can be seen throughout the park. At night it becomes something of a focal point, due to the ground and track lighting designed by KCL.

The lighting display consists of 137 track mounted LED light fixtures synchronised with each of the ride vehicles and 46 ground lights.

The roller coaster is designed to confuse and mislead its riders, the lighting complements this and adds another element of intrigue and unpredictability to the rider experience.

Ride Entertainment is a world leading provider of sales, operations, financial partnerships and installations for the attractions industry. Its clients include: KCL Engineering, Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, Funtime, Valtiner & Partner and Skyline Attractions.
