The complex includes a health club and will be an integral part of Alderley Park – a large science and technology park

A new health club and sports complex will launch as part of the Alderley Park science and technology park in Cheshire.

The complex will include a large gym, group fitness studio, sports hall, three outdoor tennis courts and a five-a-side 3G football pitch. It will also be the first site in the region to include an immersive group cycling studio, offering users the Les Mills ‘The Trip’ experience.

There will also be 7-a-side and 11-a-side football pitches and outdoor recreation areas.

Due to open in September, the centre will be operated by leisure trust Everybody Sport and Recreation.

According to Peter Hartwell, CEO, Everybody Sport and Recreation, the centre will offer a wide range of activities with the view of getting all parts of the community more physically active.

“We’ll be putting together a varied schedule of classes, ranging from indoor group cycling to yoga, which will be open to all the people working and living at the Park as well as for the local community to enjoy," Hartwell said.

"The new gym and sports complex is an integral part of Alderley Park, which will also include a gastropub and retail outlets."

Everybody Sport and Recreation currently employs more than 900 staff and the opening will offer a number of new job opportunities (to learn more about these opportunities, click here).

Thomas Barton, executive director, Everybody Sport and Recreation, added: “This is a fantastic time to join our ever-growing health and wellbeing charity.

"Alderley Park is going to be a facility offering the local community new and innovative ways to get fit and healthy. We are looking forward to expanding our team and employing people with a focus on creating a great customer experience for our new members.”

The £160m Alderley Park project is led by Bruntwood SciTech.
