Precor has signed a global distribution deal with Stages Cycling, manufacturer of commercial indoor cycles, power meters and cycle computers.

The strategic partnership will see Precor become the worldwide distributor of Stages Cycling’s commercial product lines, leveraging Precor’s existing sales, service, and distribution network in more than 100 countries.

It's thought that Precor plans to extend its marketing of other suppliers' products and take on further brands – a strategy which is working well for many high street retailers.

Precor is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Peloton and was temporarily rebranded as Peloton Commercial after which this decision was reversed as the brand reverted back to its original name.

Peloton has confirmed that it had considered a sale of Precor, but is now working to build value in the business – a strategy the Stages deal is part of.

Stages Cycling’s products include the Stages SC3 and the SC2, which has become popular in the boutique cycling studio sector.

Additionally, Stages Studio provides cloud-based data analysis, group display and "motivational indoor cycling experiences".

Dustin Grosz, CEO of Precor, said: “Stages Cycling is a global leader in the cycling industry, with products that are trusted by professional cyclists and indoor cycling studios around the world.

"We are excited to offer their innovative cycling products to our customers, who are looking for equipment that is backed by the service and support of a partner they trust.”
